Ground Level

   2019-2021

The ground we walk on is a part of the landscape. It is constructed and eroded by humans and nature. I want to shift the focus and emphasize the content at ground level. Both negative and positive. From the ground the environment is intimidating, it makes the world bigger. It becomes oppressive. We start to see who lives or moves at ground level, animals and the homeless. The landscape is worn and scarred. As well as banal and lifeless. I am drawn to a neglected sad landscape. In a sense, a dystopian lanscape.
